Build 3D game levels with Blender MCP and arcadegnt
Blender is free, it runs on any computer, and it can make anything you see in a 3D game. It also takes months to learn. Blender MCP lets your assistant use Blender for you: it adds objects, shapes them, sets materials, pulls free textures and models from Poly Haven, and exports the result. Connect it in the same chat as arcadegnt, and your assistant can build a level in Blender, put it in your game, and play it in a real browser.
What you get
- Levels you can see. A race track, a dungeon or a city block built in Blender, where you can open the scene and look around.
- Free assets. Blender MCP can bring in CC0 textures, models and skies from Poly Haven, with no key needed.
- Your edits count. Open the scene yourself, move a wall or repaint a car, and ask your assistant to export it again.
- AI models too. Blender MCP can also call 3D generators such as Hyper3D Rodin, Hunyuan3D and Tripo, if you have keys for them.
arcadegnt does the rest. It imports the exported .glb into the Godot project, checks its size and angles, builds the game and plays it on a desktop and a phone.
Set it up
You need Blender 3.0 or later on your computer, and an assistant that runs local MCP servers: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor or VS Code.
1. Connect arcadegnt
Add https://arcadegnt.com/mcp as a connector. The steps for each assistant are on the home page.
2. Install uv
Blender MCP runs with uv, a Python tool. On a Mac: brew install uv. Other systems are covered in the Blender MCP readme.
3. Add the Blender MCP server
In Claude Code:
claude mcp add blender uvx mcp-for-blender
4. Install the Blender add-on
uvx mcp-for-blender install-addon
Then in Blender, open Edit, Preferences, Add-ons and turn on MCP for Blender.
5. Connect Blender
In the 3D viewport press N, open the MCP for Blender tab and click Start MCP Server. Then restart your assistant.
Blender MCP can run any Python code inside Blender, so save your work before you start, and only run one assistant against Blender at a time.
Your first game with a Blender level
Paste a prompt like this one:
Make a 3D hover racer with arcadegnt. In Blender, build a looping neon track with
banked turns, glowing edge rails and a few ramps, plus a sleek hover ship. Use a
night-sky HDRI from Poly Haven. Export the track and ship as .glb, send them to my
game, build it and check it on desktop and phone.
Your assistant will:
- Build the track and ship in Blender, with materials and lighting.
- Export each one as
.glbwith Blender's glTF exporter, applying modifiers so what you see in Blender is what the game gets. - Send the files to your game. If your assistant runs commands (Claude Code, Codex), it uploads them itself with arcadegnt's
create_asset_upload. In a chat app, it gives you an upload link and you drop the exported files on that page. - Look at each model with
view_assetto learn its size and which way it faces. - Write the game in Godot, add collisions to the track, a chase camera for the ship, and build.
- Play the game with
check_gameon a desktop and a phone, look at the screenshots, and fix what is off.
You get a link like https://neon-loop.arcadegnt-play.com/ that anyone can open on a computer or phone.
Tips for better results
- Keep it light for phones. Ask for low-poly shapes and 1K or 2K textures. Each file must be under 25 MB, and a game can hold 150 MB in total.
- Split big levels. Export the track, the scenery and the props as separate files so the game can reuse props and you can re-export one piece at a time.
- Bake fancy materials. Godot's web renderer handles standard materials, lights, shadows and fog. Complex Blender shader node setups should be baked to textures first.
- Face forward. Ask your assistant to point vehicles and characters down the same axis every time, so they drive and walk the right way in the game.
- Save versions. Keep the
.blendfile. You can change the level later and export it again into the same game.
Game ideas to try
- A hover racer on a neon track that loops over itself.
- A small open island with a lighthouse, caves and hidden coins.
- A spooky house built room by room, with flickering lights.
- A mini golf course with a different obstacle on every hole.
When the game is ready, ask your assistant to submit it to the arcadegnt gallery so other people can play it.
