Use free asset packs from Kenney and Poly Haven in your game
Some of the best game art on the internet is free. Kenney has made thousands of sprites, tiles, 3D models, fonts and sounds that anyone can use in any game, even a paid one. Poly Haven and ambientCG give away realistic textures and skies. With arcadegnt, your assistant doesn't need you to download anything: give it the link, and it pulls the pack straight into your game, looks at what's inside and builds with it.
What you get
- Whole kits in one style. A Kenney kit has every piece a genre needs: a racing kit has roads, cars and barriers; a dungeon kit has walls, floors, doors and chests. Everything matches.
- 2D and 3D. Sprites, tilesets and UI for 2D games, and low-poly
.glbmodels for 3D ones. - Textures and skies. Stone, wood, metal, grass and sand textures, and HDRI skies that light a whole 3D scene, from Poly Haven and ambientCG.
- Fonts and sound. Pixel and display fonts for the title screen, and sound effects for clicks, jumps, coins and explosions.
- No account, no key, no cost. CC0 means you can use it however you like, without even a credit (though a thank-you is nice).
Set it up
1. Connect arcadegnt
Add https://arcadegnt.com/mcp as a connector. The steps for each assistant are on the home page.
2. That's it
Packs come in through arcadegnt's import_asset tool, which works in every assistant: Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and the rest. There is nothing else to install.
Where to find packs
- Kenney: 2D sprites, tiles, UI, fonts, sounds and low-poly 3D kits, all CC0. Each pack page has a download link under "Continue without donating". That link is the one your assistant needs.
- Poly Haven: CC0 textures, HDRI skies and models. Pick the 1K or 2K size: bigger files slow the game down on phones.
- ambientCG: more CC0 textures, from bricks to rusty metal.
- Poly Pizza, OpenGameArt and itch.io: single models and packs. Licences vary, so check each one. CC-BY means the game has to credit the artist.
Your first game with a free pack
Paste a prompt like this one:
Make a 3D racing game with arcadegnt using Kenney's Racing Kit. Import only the
.glb models, build a looping track from the road pieces, use one of the cars for the
player and three more as rivals. Add a Kenney font for the HUD and Kenney sound
effects. Build it and check it on desktop and phone.
If your assistant can browse the web, it finds the download link itself. If not, open the pack page, copy the download link and paste it into the chat.
Your assistant will:
- Pass the link to
import_asset, which downloads the pack and unpacks it into your game'sassets/folder. For big 3D kits it takes only the files it asks for, such as*.glb, so the game stays small. - List what came in with
list_assetsand look at the pieces it needs withview_assetto learn their size and which way they face. - Write the game in Godot, place the pieces, and build.
- Add the pack and its licence to
CREDITS.mdin your project. - Play the game with
check_gameon a desktop and a phone, look at the screenshots, and fix what is off.
You get a link like https://kit-racer.arcadegnt-play.com/ that anyone can open on a computer or phone.
Tips for better results
- One pack family per game. Kenney's kits all share one look, so mixing Kenney kits works. Mixing Kenney with a realistic model from elsewhere usually doesn't.
- Take only what you need. Many 3D kits ship every model in four formats. Ask for
.glbonly. A zip can hold up to 1000 matching files and 80 MB, and each file can be up to 25 MB. - Small textures. 1K or 2K is plenty for a browser game. 4K and 8K files make the download slow and can crash older phones.
- Light it well. A Poly Haven HDRI sky gives a 3D scene soft, realistic light in one step. Add one sun for shadows and the kit pieces look far better than under default light.
- Mix with code-built art. Use a pack for the models and let your assistant build the water, sky, particles and effects in code. Read Make good-looking games without asset generators.
- Keep the credits. Even when the licence doesn't need it, a
CREDITS.mdthat lists every pack makes it easy to check later.
Game ideas to try
- A kart racer built from Kenney's Racing Kit, with drift boosts and a ghost of your best lap.
- A dungeon crawler from Kenney's dungeon tiles, with keys, traps and a boss.
- A tower defense game on a Kenney tileset with three kinds of towers.
- A small 3D village lit by a Poly Haven sunset sky, with a fetch quest.
When the game is ready, ask your assistant to submit it to the arcadegnt gallery so other people can play it.
Need something no pack has? Make it with Meshy MCP for 3D models or PixelLab MCP for pixel art.
